Influenster Sweetheart VoxBox 2013

I first heard of Influenster late last year from other beauty bloggers. Who wouldn't love the chance to review free products? I got my invite in January and signed up the next day. Can you believe my surprise when  got an e-mail saying I pre-qualified for the first VoxBox of the year?!?! I knew being pre-qualified didn't guarantee me a box, but I was still pretty stoked. I filled out the questionnaire and anxiously waited to see if I would be chosen.  A couple weeks later I got a tracking number and my first VoxBox was on it's way.
When I saw the white box with a pink heart in my mailbox I knew my VoxBox had arrived. It just so happened it arrived around the time I started my blog so it was destined to be my first post.

Inside the box I found a postcard describing every item along with the prices.  Just as you would in monthly subscription services like Birchbox or Ipsy.

The item I'm most excited for is the Olay Fresh Effects {Va-Va-Vivid!} Powered Contour Cleansing System. It's described as a "vibrating , tri-tip facial cleansing brush that packs some punch". The brush itself is pretty small, but it's perfect for traveling.  The cleanser that came with it  Olay Fresh Effects {Shine, Shine Go Away!} Shine Minimizing Cleanser is a creme cleanser, which I prefer. It has a very, very light citrus-y scent. Nothing overwhelming or irritating,  The two are packaged together for $12.99 which I honestly find a bit pricey but I've yet to use it so it may totally blow me away. I'm going to use this system for the next week so I'll let you know how it goes.
The next item I got was Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response deodorant. It is "uniquely formulated to protect you from all three causes of sweat, especially stress sweat." I'm the type of person who found one deodorant they loved and stayed with it, so I'm interested to see how I like this. The scent is a bit strong for me. I put a little on my hand and the scent seemed to fade as time went on. It's described as an "advanced solid" but to me it's more of a quick drying creme, I'm not a fan of gel  deodorants or any wetness under my arms and love solid deodorant so I'm curious how this will feel.
I can be a picky eater so I hate receiving snack bars inside of any box subscriptions. Unless it's a nut type bar. I love my nuts. My husband, Iggy, on the other hand loves it since he's the one that gets to eat it. So when I saw Skinnygirl Daily On-The-Go Bars, I was a bit bummed. This bar is 180 calories, all natural, kosher, and high in fiber. I tried a (very, very) small bit and did not like.  Coconut and peanut butter do not mix in my book. Iggy thought it tasted good and not "fiber-y" like other fiber bars.
The final item I got could of been one of two Not Your Mother's products: Beach Babe Texturing Sea Salt Spray or She's a Tease Volumizing Hair Spray. I received the second, I've heard amazing things about this brand and their dry shampoo so I was happy when I saw this product. I wasn't happy about the spell though. It has that strong alcohol hair spray spell that is not very appealing. I love my L'oreal Elnett hairspray and thought that had a strong smell. I guess I was wrong.

All and all I'm pretty happy with the Influenster Sweetheart VoxBox. I mean for being free it beats some of the other monthly services I get. As part of receiving the box I get to review products and join in on twitter debates.  The more active you are the higher you score gets. High score=  VoxBox (hopefully). One thing I've learned is just cause you get one box doesn't mean you're guaranteed another.
Reviews will be up in a week or so !

Thanks for reading

Love, Elle
